Prenatal Visits

I offer two prenatal visits, during which we will discuss your pregnancy, birth preferences, expectations and go over your birth plan.

One prenatal visit may include accompanying you to an appointment with your provider if you so choose. My hope in doing so would be to pre-establish a relationship with your provider in order to provide you with more comprehensive care as a team during your birth.

Unlimited Phone and Email Support

I am available to you by phone and email from the time we begin working together through 6 weeks postpartum.

Please contact me between meetings with any questions or concerns you may have and I will get back to you within 24 hours in non-urgent situations.

Labor and Delivery Support

My goal is to provide you with the care and support you need to achieve the birth you desire!

I offer continuous emotional and physical support for you and guidance for your partner during labor and birth by recommending position changes, pain management, relaxation techniques, and comfort measures.

I help guide your wishes as expressed in your birth plan in order to facilitate an overall positive birth experience. I offer unbiased information necessary to help you and your partner make informed decisions and navigate changes if complications arise.

Immediate Postpartum Support

The hours immediately following your birth are so special! Respecting and nurturing your family’s ability to bond with your baby is my main priority.

I am also there to help establish breastfeeding, if desired, and discuss newborn care and procedures.

I will stay with you for the first few hours after birth, usually until all has settled and you are ready to rest and bond with your sweet baby!

Postpartum Visits

I will visit you within the first week following your birth. At this time we will discuss and process your birth as well as answer any questions you may have. We will also talk about healing, breastfeeding, your postpartum mood, newborn care, and anything else you need!

Postpartum is a sacred time with your new baby, but it can also be difficult for a multitude of reasons, this is why I offer additional visits if you feel you need it!

(An hourly fee does apply for additional visits)

Childbirth Education

In addition to birth doula services, I developed and teach a one day, comprehensive childbirth education class at a local birth center. It covers everything from stages of labor and comfort measures to partner involvement and labor positions.

The second portion of the class is taught by experienced postpartum doula and lactation counselor, Jackie Askvig. It covers a multitude of information regarding the postpartum experience and preparation for breastfeeding.
